What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Athletic clothing is ideal, but anything comfortable is fine. Depending on the area we're evaluating, clothing that allows us to observe your movement may be helpful.

How long will my first appointment take?

Plan on about 45 minutes from start to finish, including any paperwork. Your visit will be one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy focused entirely on you.

What happens during my first visit?

We'll start by discussing your symptoms, health history, goals, and concerns. We'll then perform a thorough evaluation to better understand what's contributing to the problem and discuss the best next steps for your situation.

What if I've already tried physical therapy before?

Many of our patients have. Previous physical therapy experiences can vary widely depending on the clinic, provider, and approach used. Even if physical therapy hasn't helped in the past, it doesn't necessarily mean your situation can't improve.

Can physical therapy help if I've had this problem for years?

Many people assume that because they've had pain for a long time, they simply have to live with it. While every situation is unique, the length of time you've had a problem doesn't automatically determine what improvements may still be possible.

Will I receive treatment on my first visit?

Often, yes. In addition to the evaluation, many patients receive initial treatment and recommendations during their first appointment. The exact approach depends on your condition and goals.

Unlike many clinics where patients may work with multiple providers or spend time on their own, every visit here is one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We focus on understanding the cause of the problem and creating a plan tailored specifically to you. We use the most effective treatments, while researching and developing new methods to help resolve your issue.

That's actually very common. Just because symptoms improve temporarily doesn't always mean the underlying issue has been resolved. Understanding when, where, and why symptoms return often provides important clues about what's driving the problem.

Every person is different, so there's no one-size-fits-all answer. After your evaluation, we'll discuss what we find, what your goals are, and what we believe is the best path forward. Our goal is to help you make informed decisions about your care.

That's completely normal. Many of our patients have never worked with a physical therapist before or have had disappointing experiences elsewhere. Our first priority is understanding your situation, answering your questions, and helping you feel comfortable with a plan moving forward.

In most cases, no. Missouri allows Direct Access, which means many people can see a physical therapist without first obtaining a physician referral.

We understand that things come up but we ask that you provide 24 hours notice before cancellation so that we have the opportunity to offer that appointment to someone else in need. Please call/text (314) 778 - 9443.
